Your responsibility as a database administrator (DBA) will be the performance, integrity and security of a database. You’ll be involved in the planning and development of the database, as well as in troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.
To administer and provide support for database systems to meet users’ and clients’ needs
- Installs and upgrades the Oracle server and application tools
- Creates primary database storage structures (tables paces) after application developers have designed an application
- Creates primary objects (tables, views, indexes) once application developers have designed an application
- Modifies the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers
- Ensures compliance with Oracle license agreement
- Controls and monitors user access to the database
- Monitors and optimizes the performance of the database
- Plans for backup and recovery of database information
- Database backup and restore
- Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science, ICT or related field preferred.
- One (1) year of relevant work experience
- Experience / Knowledge in supporting application development background
- Experience / Knowledge in ASM and RAC architecture
- Experience / Knowledge in Linux environment (Red Hat or Solaris), including installing Oracle Software (database, RAC, EM) on Linux
- Analytical troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
- Numeric reasoning and logic skills
- Ability to identity tasks, plan and schedule to achieve a given goal
